History of anji =============== Anji was a project that originated back in the mists of time. Some components were created as long ago as 1985, and incorporated into client systems. When the first Netscape browsers became available, the decision was made to create a graphical user interface to the toolset, which was still nameless. This allowed dictionaries to be viewed from a browser, but little else. The release of suns Java VM and language prompted further development, which was focused heavily on the use of Java on the client side. the release of Maverick gave new direction, as it allowed for an open database to be used, and allowed Java to be utalised both in the browser, and in the server. Anji languished for a long time until the release of OpenQM, which allowed for a higher performance (open) backend.
