I'm a long way from the telephone exchange, can you still help me?
Yes, we probably can still help. In fact, it's probably even more valuable
as a small improvement can make the difference between annoying and usable. For one of our customers,
we were able to increase their speed from 0.6Mbs to over 1.0Mbs. This makes iPlayer usable, so the customer
was very pleased. Also, a slow speed can mean intermittent connection, which we can also solve.
We can't to the impossible, but it's amazing what we can do!
I work all day. Can you make evening visits?

Estimate distance from exchange from phone number and postcode
Determine expected link speed
Check socket polarity and cable condition
Measure actual link speed and test router ADSL modem
Measure spectral characteristics of phone line
Minimize number of filters and test against reference unit
Check and disconnect redundant in-house wiring and bell wire
Survey wireless spectrum usage
Configure router to use un-congested channel
Ensure fastest wireless link speed possible is being used
Check MTU setting
Test router wireless signal strength
Ensure adequate encryption is in use
Check for unauthorized access
Test wireless signal strength in all areas necessary
Liaise with ISP to identify and resolve issues

How much does this cost?
The charge for this comprehensive service is only £80, and there is no
VAT to add. Satisfaction is guaranteed, in that we will undo all of our
changes and provide a full refund in the unlikely event of you being
dissatisfied. Payment can be made by cheque or cash when our engineer
visits. Sorry, but at the moment we accept no other payment methods.
Security and Privacy
We take your privacy and confidentiality very
seriously. Our engineers are trustworthy, or we would not hire
them. However it's always a good idea to take maximum care with
security. At no point will our engineer record any passwords that
are needed by your ISP. It might be necessary for you to enter your
passwords, but the engineer will not record this. Encryption keys will not
be recorded either. Furthermore, your customer details will not be sold on
for marketing purposes. We value our customers, so treat them with
respect.
